About The Site

Whisper was a spur of the moment fansite (as most of my sites are) that began construction on December 30, 2004. It later became a fanlisting when I was miraculously approved as the owner on January 2, 2005. I originally wanted to make a Zidane and Garnet relationship fansite, but after browsing on the Internet, I found a handful of very nice Zidane fansites, but all the good Garnet fansites that once were on the net seem to have all been taken down or mysteriously disappeared. I was actually quite upset about that, especially since one of my favourite Garnet fansites had also disappeared.

I was saddened to see all the good Garnet sites out there become "Page Cannot Be Found" sites. Therefore, I scrapped the idea of a Zidane and Garnet site (there are few Zidane fansites, but all are of 'high quality') and decided to create this site dedicated to only Garnet.

I've always liked Garnet, ever since the beginning. Despite the fact FFIX being an FF game that's not as popular as the previous installments of FF or even FFX, I liked the game a lot and the characters are really memorable, despite their unpopular cartoon-like appearance. I thought Garnet was simply adorable, as well as really beautiful. I marveled at the breathtaking FMVs and was so excited when I first met Garnet within the game, her grand and unforgettable escape from Alexandria Castle. Really, I was like, "I kidnapped the princess, yay!" As I continued the playing, it really tugged on my heart strings when I saw how her relationship with Zidane blossomed; it was subtle and smooth, not at all sudden. Although predictable, it was still lovely. That's how I came to wanting to make a couples fansite for the two of them, but because of lack of Garnet fansites on the net anyway, Whisper became a site only for Garnet.

Why did I choose the name Whisper? To be honest, it was another spur of the moment thing. I'm not very good at naming my websites; usually they end up irrelevant titles, or simply uncreative. Whisper falls in the category of irrelevant titles. I suppose if you think about it, the word whisper sort of reminds one of our shy princess who's determined to send her message across ... but that's just me trying to make up a reason why I chose "whisper".

Design

This is the fourteenth design of Whisper. I like designing sites so my sites often go through large volumes of layouts, heh. My resources for designing this layout consist of:

• Hybrid Genesis (patterns, textures)
• Squidfingers (patterns)
• Brusheezy (brushes)

The image of Garnet is a common one found all over the net.

I really like this layout. As usual, I had no idea what the heck I was doing while making it (I never plan, unfortunately (??) but I think it turned out rather nice. The background pattern was sort of a last minute detail, it was originally going to be an all white background, but I thought it'd be nice to put something ... so here we are!
